Where I Teach

You can study with me in person in either the NYC/Westchester area (downstate NY) or upstate in Rochester.

Skype allows me to teach people regardless of where they live.  I’ve ironed out many technical issues, prepared auditions, and in general have taught and mentored many students through the internet.

My main teaching program is in Westchester County, NY – just over the border of New York City, serving towns along the Saw Mill River Parkway, including, but not limited to: Riverdale (Bronx), Inwood (Manhattan), Yonkers, Hastings-on-Hudson, Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley, Irvington, Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Briarcliff Manor, Chappaqua, Mt. Kisco, Pleasantville, Yorktown and Cortlandt Manor.   Children are encouraged to register through The RiverArts Music Program – these lessons take place in Hastings-on-Hudson. I also teach in person from my studio in Dobbs Ferry.

I live in the New York City/Westchester County area and I have a home in Rochester, NY.  I fuse the two locations by using Skype.   Using Skype in no way compromises my ability to teach any aspect of the many musical skill sets my students need to master. I have found that a combination of Skyping and in-person lessons is actually more effective than only in-person lessons. Read my treatise on Why Skype Works!

“It was absolutely a blessing to now have that option and flexibility to have Joseph receive a portion of his cello program via Skype.   I can actually cook dinner, help others with homework, and be in the comfort of our own home while Joseph is up in his room receiving his lesson!!

It really helps our family reduce stress and allow for everyone’s needs to be better met and maintain the joy that should be at the forefront of our son learning to play cello and nurturing his love of music.”
